Five Years of Giving: Our 5th Annual Christmas Toy Drive in Honduras

This past December marked a milestone for Our Hearts for the World, Inc. as we celebrated our fifth annual Christmas Toy Drive in Honduras—and without question, it was our biggest and most impactful year yet.

What started years ago with a simple desire to bless children during the Christmas season has grown into something truly special. In 2025, we were able to surpass last year’s total of 425 children and bless 605 children with toys, food and love. Seeing that growth firsthand—and being there in person—made this year incredibly meaningful.

A Community Effort From the Very Beginning

This toy drive was never about one person or organization. It was about community. From the start, the support poured in from every direction.

We shopped across multiple stores including Target, Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx, and we also received an overwhelming response through our Amazon wish list. On top of that, we were blessed with the support of so many local businesses, from cafes and barbershops to pool companies, massage businesses and metal suppliers.

One standout supporter was Elite Fence and Outdoor of Tampa Bay, a strong and consistent partner of our nonprofit. Businesses like theirs play a huge role in allowing us to serve both locally and internationally.

While I wish I could name every business that stepped up, the truth is there were so many that it would be impossible to list them all here. Please know this: every single business, family, and individual who supported this drive mattered. This mission would not be possible without you.

From the U.S. to Honduras—And Everywhere in Between

In total, we shipped eight large boxes filled with toys and supplies to Honduras. Everything arrived smoothly thanks to Cargo Honduras in Tampa within about one and half to two weeks, which was a huge blessing in itself. Shortly after, I made the trip down to meet up with the team, then it was nonstop work—in the best way possible.

For hours on end, we were out in the streets and in churches, blessing children one by one. Each child received a toy, and thanks to the generosity of others, many also received food.

A very special moment came through my brother in Honduras, who owne his own business and chose to get involved this year. His company donated 16 Little Caesars pizzas, along with juices for the kids. So as we handed out toys, we were also able to give a slice of pizza and a juice to each child. Seeing the smiles on their faces—its something that stays with you forever.

Moments Tha Change You

While every child we encountered left an impact, one moment in particular truly moved me.

I met a young boy named Andy, who approcahed me trying to sell socks. Instead of just buying them, I asked him about his story. Andy shared that he was selling socks simply to earn money to buy food for his family.

That moment stopped me in my tracks.

It was a reminder of why we do this work. Its not just about toys—its about dignity, hope, and meeting people where they are. Being able to listen to Andy, bless him and share that moment together was one of the many reminders that God is present in every interaction.

Impact Beyond Borders

While Honduras was the heart of this drive, the impact didn’t stop there. Because of the generosity shown, we were able to help families locally here in the United States, blessing children closer to home as well. Thats always been part of our mission—serving wherever there is a need.

Grateful, Humbled, and Already Looking Ahead

Our 5th Annual Christmas Toy Drive was truly a success, and I am beyond grateful. Grateful for the businesses. Grateful for the families. Grateful for every individual donation, prayer, share, and act of support.

This is whats happens when people come together with a shared heart of service.

As I look back on 2025, Im already counting down to the next one. We’re excited, expectant, and ready to continue growing—reaching even more children and spreading even more joy.
