More than ten years passed before I returned to Honduras. What began as a trip to see my grandmother turned into something much bigger—a reminder of where my story began and a calling from God to give back. Out of that moment, Our Hearts for the World, Inc. was born.

In Honduras, a simple sweet bread called semita is more than just a pastry-it’s a lifeline. Families wake before sunrise to bake them in small home kitchens, then walk the streets selling each one in hopes of earning enough to get through the day. Every semita sold carries a story of resilience, determination, and the will to make a living with what little you have.

This September, I’ll be heading back to Honduras-not just for a family wedding, but to continue the mission that’s been on my heart for years: serving families in need. From providing groceries to exploring ways to help children access education, this trip is about turning love into action. Nearly 1 in 5 children in Honduras is not in school, and we want to be a part of changing that. Join me in making an impact-one family, one child, one act of kindness at a time.
